The Evolution of Social Ontologies
نویسنده
چکیده
The idea of representing knowledge in formal models gets more and more popular. Since these models are understandable and thus processable by machines, the retrieval of knowledge is facilitated. Furthermore, ontology based systems use these models to provide meaningful and semantically enriched data. The success of Web 2.0 approaches has shown, that communities contribute collaboratively their knowledge to the web. The approach of this work is to understand and support collaborative modeling of structured knowledge by communities – the Evolution of Social Ontologies.

Background and Aim: Ontologies facilitate data integration, exchange, searching and querying. Open Biomedical Ontologies (OBO) Foundry is a solution for creating reference ontologies. In this foundry, the design of ontologies is based on established principles which allow for their interactions as a single system. The purpose of this study is to determine the main features of ontologies develop...
متن کاملSocial life, evolution of intelligence, behaviour and human brain size
Social life is one of the most critical factors of the evolution of the behavior of non-human primates and humans. Several factors, such as an increase in brain size, adaptive modules, and grooming, are related to the complexities of social groups. Although some scientists have mentioned foraging as a rival hypothesis for the evolution of behavior, in this research, we tried to investigate the ...
متن کاملIntegrating Social Web with Semantic Web - Ontology Learning and Ontology Evolution from Folksonomies
In this paper, we present an approach for integrating Social Web with Semantic Web by combining the easiness of annotation of resources in the Social Web and the expressiveness of ontologies to describe the resources in the Semantic Web. Our approach combines ontology learning and ontology evolution techniques to provide an integrated Web. Besides, we show how ontology alignment can be used to ...

متن کاملCommunity-Driven Ontology Evolution Based on Folksonomies
The Semantic Web mission is to enable a better organization of the Web content to improve the searching, navigation and integration of the available information. Although the Semantic Web is intended for machines, the process of creating and maintaining it is a social one: only people, for example, have necessary skills to create and maintain ontologies. While most existing ontologies are desig...
